Several temples such as Siddhaganga Matha, Yogabhoga Narasimha Temple in Devanarayanadurga, Yadur Siddhalingeshwara Temple, Gubbi Gosal Channabasaveshwara Temple, and Kalmath in Nonavinakere contribute significantly to the divine heritage of the country. Sri Lakshmi Venkateshwara Temple in Gottikere, which is located just 5 km away from Turuvekere taluk in Tumakuru district, is renowned for its significance.

Temple Construction

The divine contribution for the construction of this temple comes from the offspring of Srimati Puttamma Javaregowda(Sri. Patel Marannagouda’s sister), namely Sri J. Giriyappa, Sri J. Ramakrishna, and Dr. Sri J. Narayanaswami.

Their mother, Srimati Puttamma Javaregowda, in her final days, erected the Rama Mandira in Gottikere, her hometown, to perpetuate religious activities perpetually. She expressed a desire for the welfare of the people around, along with the blessings of Lord Rama, which her children fulfilled by transforming the entire village into a prominent temple town of the state. They ensured that religious rituals would be performed throughout the day.

In 2006, they commenced their religious service, along with the construction of a community hall in honor of their mother. The service has now grown substantially. In 2013, they built the Anjaneya Swamy Temple. Subsequently, they conceived the idea of constructing a place where every devotee could worship their chosen deity, leading to the establishment of 22 deities in 2015. The result of this effort is the Sri Lakshmi Venkateshwara Temple.

Special Features of the Temple

Spread across approximately 2 acres, Sri Lakshmi Venkateshwara Temple stands out among the conglomerate of temples built in Krishna stone, with a height of 9 feet 3 inches. Additionally, adjacent to it, there is another community hall, equipped with facilities to accommodate devotees and conduct various auspicious activities.

The main attraction of this temple is the idol of Sri Lakshmi Venkateshwara sculpted by the renowned Bangalore sculptor, Sri Venkataramanabhat. Alongside, the main shrine houses deities like Mandasmita Abhaya Asta Venkateshwara, Ganapathi, Shiva Parvathi Nandi, Rama Lakshmana Sita, Anjaneya, Radha Krishna, Padmavathi, Saraswathi, Shiradi Sai Baba, Satyanarayana Swamy, Shani Mahatma, Durga Parameshwari, Subrahmanya Swamy, Kalabhairava Swamy, Kubera Swamy, and the Navagraha.
